AGRI-DRY Project:
How can we devise a more sustainable food production system building on Traditional Ecological Knowledge?
In this project, Mncedisi aims to identify and characterise ecosystem services provided by different agricultural systems from past cropping methods. The project investigates farming practices applied in drylands to understand barriers and enablers to integrating traditional ecological knowledge. This will support the understanding and development of policies to foster farming resilience in water-stressed environments to promote sustained socio-economic growth in light of changing climate patterns.
